Licuala peltata var. sumawongii 'Sumawongii Fan Palm' is a rare and highly sought-after palm species from the family Arecaceae. This stunning plant thrives in tropical rainforests and is prized for its unique appearance and scarcity. 

Height: Up to 5 metres in its natural habitat; approximately 3 metres in 15 years of cultivation
Width: Features 12-15 large, flat, undivided leaves that can reach up to 1.5 metres  across, with petioles up to 2 metres.
Native to: Thailand
Foliage type: Evergreen, with dark green, large, undivided fan leaves
Growth rate: Slow-growing
Flowers: Rarely flowers in cultivation; primarily grown for its foliage
Light: Can handle quite a lot of sun but prefers a sheltered position with some shade due to its large leaves; not tolerant of strong winds
Water: Requires consistent moisture; best in well-draining, sheltered conditions
